CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—Six Virginia divers will compete at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships Monday through Wednesday (March 10-12) at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center in Christiansburg, Va. Action begins at noon each day.

Junior JB Kolod (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomores Carl Buergler (Arlington, Va.), Jordan Sacks (Wilmette, Ill.) and Colby Shinholser (Burtonsville, Md.) will compete in the men’s 3-meter event on Monday, move to the 1-meter boards on Tuesday and finish with the platform event on Wednesday.

Sophomores Becca Corbett (Louisville, Ky.) and Katie Warburg (Wilton, Conn.) will compete on the women’s 1-meter boards on Monday, 3-meter boards on Tuesday and platform diving on Wednesday.

Kolod has broken the men’s 1-meter (387.95) and 3-meter (428.10) records this season, while Corbett owns the women’s 1-meter (301.42) and platform (248.05) records. Warburg claims the women’s 3-meter school record with 316.05 points.

The 1- and 3-meter events will consist of a preliminary round of six dives and the top 18 will advance to the finals for a list of six more dives. In the platform events, the men’s prelim will have six dives, while the women’s prelim will have five dives. The top 12 will advance to finals and perform a second list of dives (six for the men, five for the women).

Six women and five men from Zone A will move on to the NCAA Championships, which start the women’s meet March 20-22 in Minneapolis, Minn., while the men’s meet will be contested March 27-29 in Austin, Texas.
