Gainesville, Fla. – The Virginia women’s golf team is tied for third place following the second round of the Sun Trust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. The Cavaliers shot 7-over 287 during Saturday’s play for a 36-hole total of 581. They are six shots behind tournament leading Kent State.

UVa senior Elizabeth Brightwell is among a trio of players tied for second place at 1-over 141. She posted a score of 1-over 71 Saturday. The tournament is led by Texas A&M’s Marijosse Navarro, who stands atop the leaderboard at even par 140.

Lauren Coughlin moved up to 11th place overall for the Cavaliers by shooting 2-over 72. Her two-day total stands at 145. Lauren Diaz-Yi used a 71 to move into 21st place at 146. Briana Mao is 42nd at 150 and Portland Rosen is 48th at 152.
