CHARLOTTESVILLE – For the second consecutive week, Virginia sophomore Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday (March 25).

No. 67 Collins went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles, leading the No. 6 Cavaliers to wins over No. 22 Notre Dame (6-1) and Pittsburgh (7-0).

Collins clinched UVa’s win over Notre Dame with a 6-4, 6-2 win over No. 57 Quinn Gleason at No. 2 singles and added a 6-3, 6-2 over No. 86 Audrey Ann Blakely in the win over Pittsburgh. The victories moved Collins’ singles record to 21-9 this season.

Collins also teamed with Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) to beat Notre Dame’s Jane Fennelly and Monica Robinson at No. 3 doubles and Pitt’s Amanda Wickman and Lolade Ogungbesan at No. 2.

The Cavaliers (12-4, 6-1 ACC) return to action at in-state rival Virginia Tech on Saturday (March 29). First serve at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center is set for 12 p.m.
