No. 3 Virginia Finishes First Day of Pac-12 Challenge with Seven Race Wins

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.—The No. 3 Virginia rowing team picked up seven races on the first day of the Pac-12 Challenge Saturday (March 29) on Redwood Shores.
The Cavaliers won three races against No. 13 Stanford, including the Varsity Eight (6:29.91-6:38.86), Second Varsity Eight (6:38.31-6:42.52) and Second Varsity Four (7:34.67-7:57.10). The Cardinal won a close Varsity Four race (7:27.83-7:30.03).
In the afternoon, Virginia swept all four races against Oregon State. UVa’s V8 won in a time of 6:30.5 to OSU’s 6:37.7, while the 2V8 (6:37.5-6:52.4), V4 (7:22.3-8:03.3) and 2V4 (7:22.1-7:43.9) also posted victories.
Virginia faces No. 6 USC Sunday (March 30) at the Pac-12 Challenge. The first race is scheduled for a noon start.
