CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia rowing program announced its 2014 team awards and honored its graduates at the annual team banquet Monday (May 12).

Seniors Brandy Herald (Portland, Ore.) and Elle Murray (Tampa, Fla.) were honored with the Coach’s Award for Excellence, while seniors Catherine Multari (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and Emily Pik (Darien, Conn.) were recognized with the Magruden Dent Oarsmanship Awards given to the student-athletes that best exemplify a Virginia rower.

Junior Julia Roithmayr (Yorktown, Va.) was given the team’s Most Improved Award, while freshman Georgia Ratcliff (Falls Church, Va.) was named the squad’s Rookie of the Year. Herald was also recognized with the Susan Swezey Teamwork Award, while Maryann and Barry Jordan were honored with the Harrick Award for giving oneself over and above for the program.

The Cavaliers travel to Clemson, South Carolina, for the ACC Championships on May 16-17. Virginia has captured four-consecutive conference titles and has won 13 of the 14 ACC regattas.
