CHARLOTTESVILLE – Four members of the Virginia women’s soccer team have been called into June national team camps by US Soccer. Rising senior Morgan Brian (St. Simons Island, Ga.) was called into the full national team, rising senior Danielle Colaprico (Freehold, N.J.) and rising junior Emily Sonnett (Marietta, Ga) were called into the U-23 national team and rising junior Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) was called into the U-20 national team.
Brian was one of 26 players, and the only collegiate player, to be called into camp by the United States Women’s National Team as it plays a pair of friendlies against France this month. The first game will be June 14 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., and the second game will be June 19 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Brian has made 11 appearances for the USWNT, tallying two goals.
Virginia head coach Steve Swanson, who also leads the US U-23 Women’s National Team, selected Colaprico and Sonnett among the 26 players for a week-long training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The camp will run from June 7-14.
Doniak was one of 20 players selected to represent the US U-20 Women’s National Team for a pair of friendly matches at France. The Americans, who are preparing for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada in August, will face the French U-20 Team June 10 in Plabennec and June 13 in Plougastel.
