CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Virginia volleyball season and single-match tickets are on sale now through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office.

The Cavaliers return five starters from last season’s squad that finished 18-14 overall and 11-9 in ACC play. The 2014 home slate features 12 home matches at Memorial Gymnasium, including the Cavalier Classic Sept. 5-6. Virginia’s home opener is against LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers host nine ACC contests, including conference newcomer Louisville on Oct. 4.

“Mem Gym provides a true home court advantage for us and it starts with our season ticket holders,” Virginia head volleyball coach Dennis Hohenshelt said. “We had great support last season and there were several matches that our team really fed off of the energy in the building. We are excited to start the season and look forward to sharing it with our fans.”

The team will hold its annual Orange-Blue scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. Admission to this event is free. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the team after the scrimmage and season ticket holders will receive a complimentary lunch and chalk talk with Coach Hohenshelt. The team will also hold a youth clinic prior to the scrimmage from 12:30-2 p.m.

Season tickets for adults are $30, a 50 percent savings off the single-match ticket price. Season tickets for youth, senior and UVa faculty/staff season tickets are $20, a 58 percent savings off the single-match ticket price. Season ticket holders have access to a reserved general admission courtside seating area, as well as insider communications and the opportunity to attend chalk talks with Coach Hohenshelt.
