CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s soccer team had three players named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, announced Monday. Senior midfielders Morgan Brian (St. Simons Island, Ga.) and Danielle Colaprico (Freehold, N.J.) and junior forward Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) were named to the 11-player squad. In addition, the Cavaliers were picked second in the preseason poll of the league’s coaches.

Virginia led all schools with three selections to the Preseason All-ACC Team, which debuted this season. Brian, Colaprico and Doniak were all selected to the preseason MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List earlier this month after All-America performances last season. Brian is the reigning MAC Hermann Trophy winner.

The Cavaliers were picked to finish second in the conference in the preseason poll. Florida State was the preseason pick to win the league, garnering eight of the 14 first-place votes. Virginia had five first-place votes, while North Carolina, who was third in the poll, had one first-place vote.

Virginia concludes its preseason schedule tonight as it hosts VCU at Klöckner Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m. and admission is free. The Cavaliers’ regular season schedule begins Friday as they host Marshall.
