PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Virginia junior Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) moved on to the consolation singles semifinals on Friday (Oct. 3) at the 2014 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

No. 5 Elbaba won by retirement 7-5, 1-1 against former Cavalier Rachel Pierson in the consolation round of 16. Elbaba added a 6-2, 6-0 win over Alabama’s Natalia Maynetto in the quarterfinals. Elbaba battles Florida’s Brianna Morgan in the semifinals tomorrow.

Singles semifinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Nov. 6-9 in Flushing, NY.
