Second Round of Tar Heel Invitational Suspended Due to Weather

Oct. 11, 2014 Chapel Hill, N.C. – The second round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational women’s golf tournament was suspended at 3:25 p.m. Saturday due to lighting in the area of the UNC Finley Golf Course. At the time play was stopped, the 22nd-ranked Cavaliers had improved to sixth place after finishing Friday’s opening round in 10th place.

Virginia sophomore Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was tied for fourth place at 3-under par through 12 holes of the second round.

The second round will resume at 8 a.m. Sunday and the final 18 holes of play will begin immediately after the second round is complete.
