In high school, Breyana Mason broke Monica Wright’s scoring record, putting up 1,979 points at Forest Park High School, en route to being named the 2012-13 Gatorade State High School Player of the Year for Virginia. Factoring in the two years of middle school (seventh and eighth grade) in which she played varsity basketball, she scored 3,313 points in six seasons.

In her rookie campaign with the Cavaliers, Breyana appeared in 30 games, transitioning into the starting lineup by the end of the season. Breyana finished the year with 37 assists and 20 steals.

– Her middle name is Quintina, a derivation of her father’s first name, Quinton.
