GREENSBORO, N.C.-Junior Virginia swimmer Courtney Bartholomew has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female Swimmer of the Week, the ACC announced Tuesday (Nov. 18). It is Bartholomew’s first weekly honor of the season and fourth of her career.

The Holland, Mich., native captured two individual wins in the Cavaliers’ win over NC State on Saturday (Nov. 15) in Charlottesville. She won the 200 back in an Aquatic and Fitness Center pool-record time of 1:54.31, the fastest time in the conference this season and third nationally. Before that she tied the AFC pool record in the 100 back in 52.58, the second-fastest time in the country.

Bartholomew also placed second in the 100 fly, not one of her usual events, in 54.69, the 35th-best time in the country and 11th-fastest in the ACC. In addition to her individual efforts, she led off the 200 medley relay that broke the AFC record in 1:39.40, the fastest time in the ACC and fourth nationally.
