CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 10 Virginia finished the 2015 ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 2-1 record after posting a 4-1 win over No. 20 TCU on Sunday (Feb. 8) at Boar’s Head Sports Club.

The Cavaliers improved to 6-2 with the win, while TCU fell to 4-3. Virginia also defeated No. 14 USC in this weekend’s tournament.

Virginia tallied the doubles point and Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) each recorded singles wins for the Cavaliers.

In doubles, No. 11 Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) defeated Simona Parajova and Sofiko Kadzhaya 6-2 on court two. No. 22 Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Nauta suffered a 6-3 loss to Stephanie Tan and Seda Arantekin on court one, but Collins and Epstein clinched the point for the Cavaliers with a 7-5 win over Palina Dubavets and Alexis Pereira on court three.

In singles, No. 42 Collins beat Parajova 6-3, 6-1 on court two. Epstein made it 3-0 with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Pereira on court five. TCU’s Arantekin topped Mercer 6-2, 6-3 on court six, but No. 16 Nauta clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Kadzhaya on court three.
