CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior guard Faith Randolph has been named to the All-ACC Second Team in honors announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday (March 3). Guard Mikayla Venson (Arlington, Va.) was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Randolph, who was named the ACC Sixth Player of the Year last season, adjusted to her move into the Cavaliers’ starting lineup this year by averaging 17.1 points per game, ranking among the top-six players in the conference in scoring all year. Randolph has scored 20 or more points in a game 11 times this season, including 24 points last Thursday night (Feb. 26) at North Carolina and 23 points on Sunday (March 1) against Louisville en route to being named this week’s ACC Player of the Week. Randolph leads the ACC and is ranked seven in the nation in free throw percentage, making 90.3 percent of her attempts.

Venson, who is averaging 11.7 points per game, has been among the top three-point shooters in the conference this season, making 40.0 percent of her long-range shots. Venson’s 56 three-pointers this season is one shy of matching the Virginia freshman record and is ranked in the top-10 for most-prolific three-point shooting season tallies in program history. Venson, who has started every game this season for the Cavaliers, is the 13th Virginia player to be named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Virginia (17-12, 7-9 ACC) is the No. 9 seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament, which runs from Wednesday, March 4 through Sunday, March 8 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.. As the No. 9 seed, Virginia earned a first-round bye and will face eighth-seeded Miami on Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in a second-round match-up.
