CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s soccer team plays five games this spring. Below are the results and schedule of the season.

MARCH 21 • Virginia 1, Duke 1 (Richmond, Va.)
The Cavaliers opened the spring by playing a 1-1 draw with ACC rival Duke at Striker Park in Richmond. Emily Sonnett scored on an assist from Makenzy Doniak in the first half to give the Cavaliers the lead, but the Blue Devils drew even just before halftime.

MARCH 28 • Virginia 1, Washington Spirit 0 (Boyds, Md.)
The Cavaliers posted its second win in three years over the Washington Spirit of the NWSL with a 1-0 victory at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Alexis Shaffer one-timed a Makenzy Doniak cross in for the only goal in the 35th minute.

APRIL 8 • Virginia 3, William & Mary 0 (Klöckner Stadium)
The Cavaliers downed William & Mary 3-0 in their first home game of the spring. Virginia took control early, scoring twice in the first six minutes off blasts from Alexis Shaffer and Makenzy Doniak. Kaili Torres closed out the scoring for the Cavaliers in the 84th minute.

APRIL 11 • Virginia 5, Wake Forest 2 (Upper Grass Field)
Virginia posted a 5-2 win over ACC rival Wake Forest. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes on goals from Meghan Cox and Makenzy Doniak. Emily Sonnett extended the lead to 3-0 with her goal just before halftime. After the Demon Deacons closed the advantage to 3-2 early in second half, Doniak scored her second of the day and Kristen McNabb scored over the final 20 minutes to make the final score 5-2.

APRIL 18 • Virginia 7, Georgetown 0 (Klöckner Stadium)
Virginia concluded its spring season with a 7-0 victory over Georgetown at Klöckner Stadium. Makenzy Doniak had a hat trick to lead the Cavaliers, while Morgan Reuther had a pair of goals. Emily Sonnett and Veronica Latsko also scored for Virginia. Jessie Ferrari and Kelsey Kilgore combined to post the shutout in goal.
