CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s track & field teams will conclude their home schedule Friday night with the Virginia Grand Prix at Lannigan Field. The meet will feature non-stop action with 31 events to be contested within a span of two and a half hours.

The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. Parking in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots will be $5 and free parking will be available in the Emmet/Ivy Garage. Live results of the meet will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

During the meet, at 7:40 p.m., the 11 fourth-year members of the track and field teams will be honored as they compete for the final time at Lannigan Field. Devin Brewer (Dumfries, Va.), Payton Hazzard (Huntington, N.Y.), Ryan Satchell (Central Islip, N.Y.), Ed Schrom (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Kyle Smith (Leola, Pa.) from the men’s team will be recognized, as will Moira Cronin (Andover, Mass.), Sarah DeVita (Ridgewood, N.J.), Vanessa Fabrizio (Denver, Colo.), Morgan Kelly (San Francisco, Calif.), Jordan Lavender (Nashville, Tenn.) and Kathleen Stevens (Blacksburg, Va.) from the women’s team.

Among the Cavalier athletes scheduled to compete are women’s pole vault school-record holder Bridget Guy (Greensburg, Pa.), women’s shot put school-record holder Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) and the women’s 4x400m relay school-record setting quartet of Peyton Chaney (Belleville, Ill.), Andrea Wright (Chesapeake, Va.), Tori McKenzie (Chatham, Va.) and Lavender.

Athletes from 16 schools will be in action, including 12 schools from Virginia. The meet will also feature several professional athletes, including former Hampton All-American and NCAA Champion Yvette Lewis in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Next week, the Cavaliers will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the 2015 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will run May 14-16 at Florida State University.
