CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia men’s lacrosse senior defenseman Davi Sacco, senior midfielder Ryan Tucker and senior attackman Owen Van Arsdale have been named USILA Scholar All-Americans, becoming the 22nd, 23rd and 24th Cavaliers to earn the honor from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. UVa’s three honorees match the 2006 Cavaliers that also had three scholar All-Americans (Michael Culver, Matt Poskey, Matt Ward).

In 1989, the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III.

Sacco (Fayetteville, N.Y.) started all 15 games at close defense and led UVa with 23 caused turnovers. A former walk-on, Sacco was named a captain in the middle of the season. He also picked up 27 ground balls.

Tucker (Towson, Md.) started all 15 games on the first midfield and finished with 25 goals and 11 assists. The captain’s 77 career goals places Tucker at No. 8 all-time among Cavalier midfielders.

Van Arsdale (Charlottesville, Va.) was third on the team with 40 points, via 25 goals and 15 assists. The captain started 55 of his 62 career games. Van Arsdale concludes his career with 124 career points, courtesy of 56 goals and 68 assists.
