CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Virginia senior Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and his brother, former Cavalier Justin Shane (’14), won the doubles title at the $15,000 CarX Futures event in Champaign, Ill. Friday (August 14).

The Shane brothers defeated Evan King and Kevin King 6-1, 7-6 (4) to take the doubles title.

Both of the Shane brothers also competed in singles in the tournament with Ryan falling 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 to Tommy Paul. Justin Shane advanced to the semifinals before retiring while trailing 5-7, 7-5, 4-1 to Richard Gabb.

Another Virginia alum, Sanam Singh (’11), also competed at the CarX Futures of Champaign, advancing to the round of 16 in singles before falling 6-3, 7-5 to Alex Rybakov. The loss snapped a six-match win streak for Singh.
