EARLYSVILLE, Va.-The Virginia men’s and women’s cross country teams opened the 2015 season at the UVa Duals Wednesday evening (Sept. 2) at Panorama Farms. The UVa men went 3-0, defeating Charlotte, Liberty and Norfolk State, while the Cavalier women fell to Charlotte, James Madison and Liberty.

On the men’s side, the Cavaliers had three runners in the top five, with Henry Wynne (Westport, Conn.) winning, Mike Marsella (Hope Valley, R.I.) placing third and Connor Rog (Fairfield, Conn.) finishing third. Silas Frantz (Henrico, Va.) and Adam Visokay (Ruckersville, Va.) rounded out the scoring five.

On the women’s side, Brooke Grice (Columbia, S.C.) finished 10th, while Alexia Roux (Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland), Katie Roche (Burke, Va.), Sarah Mattison (Simsbury, Conn.) and Iona Lake (Norwich, England) also competed.

The Cavaliers return to action Sept. 26 when they host the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational.
