CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore Virginia wrestler Chance McClure (Commerce, Ga.) will be competing at the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Star Classic on Sunday, Nov. 1. McClure will be participating as part of the undercard showcase.

The Cavalier wrestler will be competing as an unattached wrestler in the event since he will be redshirting this season at Virginia.

The All-Star Classic will feature many of the nation’s top Division I wrestlers who will participate in a dual meet format. The participants are selected in October and each wrestler will be announced as they commit to the event. The All-Star Classic will be televised by ESPNU and is hosted at McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech. The event is sponsored by the non-profit organization Wrestlers In Business.

As a freshman at Virginia, McClure was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for his work in the classroom. He posted a 10-12 record at 197 pounds for the Cavaliers, picking up runner-up honors at the Lock Haven Invitational and three wins at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial. He also competed in his first UVA dual when he took the mat against eventual NCAA runner-up Kyle Snyder of Ohio State last season.
