CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After the Orange team won the first 3-game series, the Blue team roared back with a pair of decisive wins in the Orange and Blue World Series at Davenport Field. The Blue won Game 4, 6-0, before blowing out the Orange in Game 5, 12-4.

The seven games in the series are broken up into two 3-game series (Games 1-3 and Games 4-6 are separate series) as well as a stand-alone Game 7. If a given team wins the first two games of either series, the third game of that series will be played based on run differential of the first two games to allow the trailing team a chance to still win the series. Each team is encouraged to score as many runs as possible and not worry about running up the score.

The teams will play Game 6 on Sunday, Oct. 18. The Blue has a plus-14 run differential heading into that contest in determining the winner of the second 3-game series. As long as the Orange does not outscore the Blue by more than 14 runs in Game 6, the Blue team will win the second series and the Orange & Blue World Series will be decided in a winner-take-all Game 7 on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

UVA will take a break from the series next week as it plays a pair of exhibition games. The Cavaliers will face the Ontario Blue Jays at 4 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 13) and High Point on Friday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. UVA will hand out commemorative posters for the 2015 NCAA Championship team prior to the High Point game (while supplies last).

There is no admission charge for any of Virginia’s fall exhibition games or Orange and Blue World Series contests. Free parking will be available in the University Hall lot. Fans should enter Davenport Field for all fall games along the first-base line and not the main gate. The best route to reach this entrance is by using the road adjacent to the Lannigan Field track complex.
