CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.), a senior forward on the Virginia women’s soccer team, has been named the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday (Nov. 3).

It is the second weekly honor this season for Doniak who also earned recognition on Oct. 20.

Doniak helped the top-ranked Cavaliers to an undefeated week as Virginia secured the ACC regular-season championship with wins at NC State and Pittsburgh. The senior took over sole possession of the career points record with 150 points after her performance last the week, and is one goal shy of tying the career goal mark of 59.

Doniak set the single-game record for goals scored at NC State, netting four goals in the first half against the Wolfpack. She scored the first goal in under a minute on the way to giving the Cavaliers a 4-0 lead at the half.

She then scored a goal and provided two assists in the Cavaliers’ 6-0 victory at Pittsburgh. Virginia finished the regular season with a 9-1-0 mark in ACC play and is 15-1-1 overall heading into the ACC Tournament this weekend.

Virginia will take the field at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 to face Clemson in the first match of the semifinals at WakeMed Park in Cary, N.C. The winner of Friday’s contest will advance to play the winner of Florida State and North Carolina in the finals on Sunday at noon.
