CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Virginia women’s tennis team closed out play at the Kitty Harrison Fall Invitational on Sunday, picking up four singles wins against the Rice Owls in the weekend tournament hosted by North Carolina.

Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) and Victoria Olivarez (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up straight-set victories in their matches, over the Owls. Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Me.) and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) split their first sets and picked up the win in tie breaks to give the Cavaliers four wins in five matches against Rice.

Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) dropped the only singles match of the day, splitting her first two sets before falling in the tie break.

Virginia will return to action next weekend at the ITA National Indoor Championships with seniors Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) taking the court to compete in singles. Collins will team up with Kelley, while Elbaba will team up with Morton in doubles competition at the prestigious event. Play begins on Thursday, Nov. 12.
