CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –Virginia senior Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) will compete in the prestigious Master’U BNP Paribas from Dec. 4-6 in Rennes, France, at the Tennis Club Saint-Grégoire indoor courts.

The eight-team competition features six student-athletes and two head coaches from International Tennis Association (ITA) member schools, who will represent the United States against teams from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Russia.

Cal’s Amanda Augustus and Boise State’s Greg Patton will coach Team USA. Virginia head coach Mark Guilbeau coached Team USA at the event with Patton in 2010 and 2011.

The U.S. women’s players include Florida’s second-ranked Brooke Austin and Cal’s fourth-ranked Maegan Manasae. The U.S. men’s players include UCLA’s third-ranked Mackenzie McDonald, Georgia’s 17th-ranked Austin Smith and Stanford’s 20th-ranked Thomas Fawcett.

Collins turned in a solid fall, claiming the singles titles at the prestigious Oracle/ITA Masters and the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. She also won the title in the Orange Flight at the UVA Fall Invite.

The format for the tournament is best-of-six matches that will feature two men’s singles matches, two women’s singles matches, one men’s doubles match and one women’s doubles match. A mixed doubles match will be played in the event of a tie at the conclusion of the six matches.
