DiCamillo, the six-seed in his bracket, claimed three straight matches with wins over wrestlers from Oregon State and Missouri before a medical forfeiture by Johnni DiJulius of Ohio State sent the Cavalier senior into Saturday’s semifinals at 133 pounds.
Ranked ninth nationally in his weight class, DiCamillo posted an 8-6 decision over Oregon State’s Joey Palmer before recording a 12-4 major decision over Zach Synon of Missouri to advance to the quarterfinals. The medical forfeiture by DiJulius moved DiCamillo on to the semifinals of the event.
