Smith Named ACC Female Swimmer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.-Virginia junior swimmer Leah Smith has been named ACC Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Feb. 2).
Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.) captured three event wins in a double-dual meet against NC State and North Carolina Friday (Jan. 29) in Chapel Hill, N.C. The junior first won the 1,000 free in a time of 9:34.21 and 20 minutes later won the 200 free in 1:46.44. Smith also won the 500 free in 4:43.74 to finish the dual-meet season undefeated in both the 500 free and the 1,000 free.
This is Smith’s third ACC weekly nod of her career. She and the Cavaliers’ full squad will next be in action at the ACC Championships, Feb. 17-20, in Greensboro, N.C.
