RICHMOND, Va.-Senior diver Becca Corbett won the 1-meter event as Virginia’s women’s divers finished action against Richmond Friday evening (Feb. 5).

Corbett (Louisville, Ky.) won the 1-meter event with a score of 282.75, while sophomore Corey Johnson (Ambler, Pa.) placed second in 275.46, which ranks fourth on UVa’s all-time list. Freshman Kylie Towbin (New Canaan, Conn.) placed fourth with a score of 269.25, which ranks fifth on UVa’s all-time list.

On 3-meter, Corbett placed second with a score of 291.83, while fellow senior Katie Warburg (Wilton, Conn.) was third with a mark of 287.10.

“It was a good day for the women,” UVA head diving coach Jason Glorius said. “We had a number of personal and season bests. We’re still getting better but we also have more work to do. We’re looking forward to competing again tomorrow.”

Next up, the full Cavalier diving corps heads to Harrisonburg, Va., Saturday (Feb. 6) to take part in the JMU Diving Invitational.
