CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–Six Virginia divers will compete at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships Monday through Wednesday (March 7-9) at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.

Seniors Becca Corbett (Louisville, Ky.) and Katie Warburg (Wilton, Conn.), sophomore Corey Johnson (Ambler, Pa.) and freshmen Kirsten Parkinson (Stamford, Conn.) and Kylie Towbin (New Canaan, Conn.) will compete on the women’s 1-meter boards on Monday, 3-meter boards on Tuesday and platform diving on Wednesday.

Senior Carl Buergler (Arlington, Va.) will compete in the men’s 3-meter event on Monday, move to the 1-meter boards on Tuesday and finish with the platform event on Wednesday.

The 1- and 3-meter events will consist of a preliminary round of six dives and the top 18 will advance to the finals for a list of six more dives. In the platform events, the men’s prelim will have six dives, while the women’s prelim will have five dives. The top 12 will advance to finals and perform a second list of dives (six for the men, five for the women).

For Zone A, the top-six finishers in women’s 3-meter and platform and the top-five finishers in the women’s 1-meter will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships. On the men’s side, the top-five finishers on 3-meter and top-four from 1-meter and platform will qualify for NCAAs.

Both the women’s and men’s NCAA Championships will be held in Atlanta. The women’s meet runs March 16-19, while the men’s meet will be contested March 23-26.
