CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 10 Virginia (9-3, 4-1 ACC) women’s tennis team makes a three-match swing through the Deep South this weekend, kicking things off on Thursday (March 17) with a top-10 showdown at No. 10 Georgia (10-1, 4-0 SEC).

The match against the Bulldogs is set for a 3 p.m. start with live stats and video streaming linked at VirginiaSports.com. Virginia will then continue the road trip with matches at No. 42 NC State on Saturday and No. 29 Wake Forest on Sunday.

Virginia enters the weekend coming off a 4-2 win over No. 6 Michigan at home. A trio of senior captains and four seniors ranked in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings leads the Cavaliers. Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 4 in the singles rankings, while Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 13 and Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 83 in singles. Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) is ranked No. 64 in the latest rankings.

In doubles, the Cavaliers have the No. 25 team in the country with the pairing of Collins and freshman Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Me.).

Georgia also sends a formidable lineup to the court with four players ranked in the latest ITA rankings. Ellen Perez (No. 10), Caroline Brinson (No. 22), Silvia Garcia (No. 75) and Kennedy Shaffer (No. 78) are all ranked in singles for the Bulldogs.

In doubles competition, the Bulldogs feature the No. 28 team of Perez and Mariana Gould. Also ranked is the pairing of Shaffer and Laura Patterson (No. 62), and the pairing of Garcia and Brinson (No. 71).

After the non-conference tilt with the Bulldogs, the Cavaliers will jump right back into Atlantic Coast Conference action with the Saturday contest at the Wolfpack and the Sunday contest with the Demon Deacons.
