CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia (15-28) softball team returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Liberty (23-22) in a doubleheader at The Park with first pitch set for 4 p.m.

Admission to all softball games is free. Fans who can’t make it out to The Park can follow the action through live stats and live audio linked at VirginiaSports.com. Fans can also receive updates through the team’s official Twitter account @UVASoftball.

Wednesday’s doubleheader is a Rewind Wednesday game with fans able to hear their favorite songs from the 90s and early 2000s. The SpiceSea food truck is also scheduled to be in attendance.

Virginia is coming off a series win over North Carolina this past weekend as the Cavaliers defeated the Tar Heels 7-1 and 3-2 in the opener and finale. UVA dropped the middle game of the series 10-8 as the offense continues to produce for Virginia.

Junior catcher Katie Park (Scottsdale, Ariz.) leads the Virginia offense with a .301 batting average, seven home runs and 35 RBI. She has also scored 17 runs, the third most on the team, and is second in on base percentage at .356 for the year.

Freshman Allie Arneson (Aledo, Texas) has been key for the Cavaliers on the base path and sparked the team at the top of the lineup in the North Carolina series. She has a team-leading .389 on base percentage and has drawn a team-high 19 walks this season. She has scored 20 runs, second only to junior Iyana Hughes (Manteca, Calif.) who has scored 26 runs. Hughes leads the team with 12 steals in 13 attempts.

Erika Osherow (Darien, Conn.) leads the Cavaliers in the circle with a 3.01 ERA and a 12-17 record through 174.2 innings of work. She is holding opponents to a .288 batting average against and has turned in 19 complete games and one shutout. Against the Tar Heels, Osherow allowed only two earned runs in picking up both wins with complete-game efforts as she stymied the North Carolina offense.

Liberty enters the doubleheader after picking up a series win over Campbell this past weekend. Mickey Loveridge leads the offense with a .386 batting average and 13 RBI to go along with 13 runs scored. Alexia Taylor has a team-leading 30 RBI and has scored 26 runs this season with a .331 batting average.
