CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Three members of the Virginia women’s lacrosse team were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team announced by the league office on Wednesday (April 27).

Sophomore attacker Kasey Behr (Northport, N.Y.), senior midfielder Mary Alati (Glen Ridge, N.J.) and junior defender Maggie Preas (Baltimore, Md.) were each named to the All-ACC Second Team. It is the first All-ACC honor for all three players.

Behr has a team-best 39 points (36 goals, 3 assists) and has scored a goal in every game this season. She tied her career-high with four goals to lead the Cavaliers past then-No. 10 Boston College. Behr has notched multiple goals in 13 games.

Alati is one of the captains for the 2016 season. The midfielder has contributed in all areas on the field, tallying eight goals, 14 assists, 33 ground balls and a team-high 20 caused turnovers.

Preas is a mainstay on the UVA defense, starting all 16 games this season. She is tied for a team-best with 34 draw controls, including picking up a career-high 11 in the win at Navy. Preas also has 21 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers on the year.

Individual awards, including Offensive Player, Defensive Player, Coach and Freshman of the Year, will be voted on by the league’s head coaches following the ACC Championship.

Virginia will begin play at the 2016 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship on Thursday. The Cavaliers are the five-seed and take on four-seed Duke at 2:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va.
