CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team will host players from across the nation this weekend as eight schools will join the Cavaliers in competing in the UVA Fall Invite at the Snyder Tennis Center.

Competition will begin on Friday and run through Sunday. While nine teams have competitors in the event, it is an individual tournament with three brackets each in singles and doubles competition. There will also be a round-robin slate with players from each team competing there.

In addition to Virginia, schools participating in the event include George Washington, Marshall, Maryland, Michigan, Old Dominion, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia Tech.

The tournament will kick off with doubles play Friday morning at 9 a.m. and singles competition beginning in the afternoon. Saturday’s competition begins at 10 a.m. and Sunday’s play begins at 9 a.m.

Competing for the Cavaliers will be juniors Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.V.) and Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia), sophomore Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) and Erica Susi (Vero Beach, Fla.) and freshmen Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas), Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.), Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia).

In doubles play, the Cavaliers will put forth the pairings of Bleser and Favero, Gullickson and Mercer, Kelley and Johanson, and Radosavljevic and Susi.
