TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-The No. 22 Virginia women’s cross country team finished 18th at the Pre-National Invitational Saturday morning (Oct. 15) at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Cavaliers finished 18th with a total of 540 points. Colorado won the team title with 93 points.

“We have made a lot of progress in the past few weeks, but I don’t think the necessarily showed today,” UVA women’s cross country coach Todd Morgan said. “We will get back home and be ready to go in two weeks down in North Carolina.”

Sophomore Emily Mulhern (Ijamsville, Md.) led the Cavaliers across the line in 69th overall in a 6K time of 21:09.6. Junior Megan Rebholz (Stafford, Va.) was 97th in 21:23.9, while graduate students Sarah Astin (Isle of Man, Great Britain) and Beth Hawling (Cheltenham, Great Britain) were 106th and 107, respectively. Freshman Emma Call (Richmond, Va.) rounded out the scoring five in 161st.

Next up, the Cavaliers compete at the ACC Championships Oct. 28 in Cary, N.C.
