Wrestling To Hold Outdoor Practice, Meet The Team Day This Weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling program has a busy weekend that fans are invited to be a part of with an open, outdoor practice on Saturday (Oct. 22) and Meet The Team event on Sunday (Oct. 23).

The Cavaliers will hold the annual outdoor practice prior to the North Carolina football game on Saturday. Wrestlers will hit the mats at O-Hill beginning at 1 p.m. Kickoff between the Cavaliers and Tar Heels is set for 3 p.m.

Sunday’s afternoon session for Meet The Teams is set for 2 p.m. as fans can meet members of the wrestling team along with the swimming and diving team prior to the basketball team’s annual Blue-White scrimmage. Upon entry to John Paul Jones Arena, fans can meet members of the swimming and diving and wrestling teams, pick-up schedule posters, and sign-up register for raffle prizes, including single-game men’s and women’s basketball tickets.

Virginia opens its 2016-17 campaign at the Clarion Open on November 6.
