COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 8 Virginia field hockey team (11-7, 3-3 ACC) fell 2-1 at No. 3 Maryland (14-3) on Tuesday (Oct. 25) at Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Md.

“This team is too good to accept a moral victory, but we played well in many aspects of the game,” said Virginia head coach Michele Madison. “We need to go back to the grind of working on finishing.”
Maryland took a 1-0 lead, scoring off its only penalty corner of the game 23:23 into the contest. Virginia evened the score when Tata knocked in a rebound off the goalie’s pads six minutes later.
