CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior goalkeeper Morgan Stearns (San Antonio, Texas) and junior forward Veronica Latsko (Venetia, Pa.) have been named CoSIDA Academic All-District selections, the organization announced on Thursday (Oct. 27).

By virtue of being selected for first team All-District honors, both Latsko and Stearns are now eligible for Academic All-America honors. To be nominated, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be at least a sophomore academically and completed at least one full year at the nominating institution.

Latsko holds a 3.46 GPA in Public Policy and Leadership and has scored seven goals for the Cavaliers this season, the second most on the team. She turned in a hat trick against Old Dominion as the Cavaliers picked up the 4-0 victory. Latsko has three game-winning goals this season, hitting the decisive goals in wins over the Monarchs, George Mason and Oklahoma.

Stearns holds a 3.55 GPA in Media Studies and has posted a 12-3-2 record in goal for the Cavaliers this season. She has helped Virginia post 10 shutout victories and set the school record for career wins this season. Stearns holds a career record of 66-8-6 and is second all-time in solo shutouts with 32. She also set the school record for consecutive shutout minutes by a keeper with 905 minutes without allowing a goal. Stearns is also a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award.

CoSIDA Academic All-America winners will be announced on November 22.
