CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The No. 15 Virginia men’s cross country team is set to compete at the NCAA Championships Saturday (Nov. 19) at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The 10,000-meter race is scheduled for a noon start.

Live results will be available at VirginiaSports.com. FloTrack.com will be broadcasting the meet live. A FloPro subscription is required to watch the meet, but a free 7-day trial is available.

The Cavaliers are ranked No. 15 in the latest Saucony/FloTrack national poll and No. 21 in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) national rankings.

Virginia qualified as a team for the NCAA Championships for the fifth-consecutive year and the 15th time overall. The highest-team finish was fifth in 1984. UVA placed 22nd in 2015.

The Cavaliers qualified for the national meet by way of a second-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Nov. 11 at Panorama Farms in Earlysville. Senior Zach Herriott (Kansas City, Mo.) led Virginia across the line, finishing in ninth place in a 10K time of 29:17.0. ACC Freshman of the Year Lachlan Cook (Brisbane, Australia) was 12th in 29:31.1, while junior Chase Weaverling (Poolesville, Md.) finished 14th in 29:39.4. Herriott, Cook and Weaverling all earned USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors for their finishes.
