CHARLOTTESVILLLE, Va.-The nationally-ranked Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams close out the regular season with a matchup with a pair of top-10 NC State squads Saturday (Jan. 28) at the Casey Aquatic Center in Raleigh, N.C.

UVA’s women (6-0) come into the meet ranked fifth in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll, while the Cavalier men (5-1) are No. 13. NC State’s men (3-0) are tabbed No. 3, while the Wolfpack women (2-1) are No. 9.

Last time out, the Cavaliers swept Duke on Jan. 20 and North Carolina on Jan. 21. Senior Leah Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and redshirt sophomore Brendan Casey (Santa Monica, Calif.) were named ACC Swimmers of the Week for their efforts.

Last year, the women’s meet was hotly contested with the Cavaliers coming away with a 154.5-145.5 victory, while the NC State men won, 222-78.

Next up is the ACC Women’s Swimming and Diving and Men’s Diving Championships Feb. 13-16 in Atlanta, Ga. The ACC Men’s Swimming Championships will also be held in Atlanta Feb. 27-March 2.
