CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The seeds and brackets for the 2017 ACC Championships were announced Tuesday (Feb. 28) following a vote of the league’s coaches. The event will be held Saturday (March 4) in Reynolds Coliseum at NC State.

Redshirt seniors George DiCamillo (Highland Heights, Ohio) and Will Mason (Virginia Beach, Va.), and freshman Jack Mueller (Dallas, Texas) all earned first-round byes in the event by virtue of being seeded second in their respective weight classes.

Mueller is 22-3 on the season and seeded second at 125 pounds with a 14-2 mark in dual matches, while Mason enters the ACC Championships with a 16-7 record and is seeded second at 133 pounds. DiCamillo, a three-time ACC Champion at 133 pounds, is seeded second at 141 pounds after moving up a weight class for his senior season. He holds a 20-3 record on the season, including a 15-1 mark in dual matches.

Seeding and brackets can change up until noon on Friday (Mar. 3).

The championships serve as the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships. The ACC has been allotted 31 automatic qualifiers; the breakdown by weight class: 125: 3, 133: 2, 141: 3, 149: 3, 157: 5, 165: 2, 174: 4, 184: 2, 197: 2, 285: 5.
