Charlottesville, Va. – The No. 18 Virginia men’s track and field team moved to eighth place in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Program of the Year Standings. The Cavaliers picked up 12 points following the recently completed NCAA Indoor Championships.

UVA’s point total stands at 29. Arkansas leads the poll with 10 points followed by Oregon with 12. Third-place Syracuse (13.5) is the only ACC program currently higher than Virginia.

The Cavaliers open the outdoor season March 24 at the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays. UVA plays host to its first outdoor meet on April 8 when Maryland, Penn and Columbia come to Lannigan Field for a quad meet. Competition gets under way at 2 p.m.
