#UVAMLax just completed a spring break trip to California to compete in the Pacific Coast Shootout against the Cornell Big Red. Over a three-day period, head coach Lars Tiffany had his players helping with youth lacrosse clinics in Compton, to meeting with the Seals at the Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, Calif., and also listening to successful professional speakers from many different walks of life. One speaker was Tom Rothman, the CEO of Sony Pictures in Culver City, Calif. Rothman is a former Brown lacrosse athlete, who played with former UVA hall of fame head coach Dom Starsia at the school in Rhode Island. Tiffany, also a Brown alum, developed a friendship with Rothman while he was the head coach of the Bears. Rothman, who’s dad played two years of lacrosse at Virginia, invited the team to the studio for a private tour, followed by a time where the studio head spoke with the team and answered questions.

The NCAA Wrestling Championships begin on Thursday and the Hoos have four wrestlers fighting for an NCAA title at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Two of those wrestlers are seeded with freshman Jack Mueller seeded 10th at 125 pounds and senior George DiCamillo seeded 6th at 141 pounds. FloWrestling did its breakdown of the weight classes entering the tournament and DiCamillo is one of the wrestlers focused on as a potential All-American and NCAA Title contender, but he’ll have to fight one of the stoutest weight classes at the tournament to do it.
