The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams will travel to Austin, Texas to compete in the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, presented by Spectrum, this weekend (March 30-April 1) at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The No. 6-ranked UVA men’s team will send six of its athletes to the competition site, while the women’s team will send three. The Cavaliers will compete in field-only events, seeing performances in the men’s hammer throw, men’s pole vault, men’s and women’s shot put, women’s long jump, women’s javelin and the men’s and women’s triple jump.

Action for the Cavaliers will begin Thursday, March 30, at 3 p.m. Live Results will be available at VirginiaSports.com, while video will be made available on the Longhorn Network with a subscription.

Both teams will face ranked competition as the men compete against student-athletes from No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 5 LSU, No. 7 Texas, No. 9 Georgia, No. 12 Texas Tech and No. 20 Houston. The women’s team will compete against No. 3 Arkansas, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 Texas, No. 12 Texas A&M and No. 19 Oklahoma, according to the latest rankings from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Last weekend, freshman Sam Young (Lewes, Del.) tied the UVA first-year outdoor record and moved to third on the Cavaliers’ all-time best lists in the pole vault, clearing 5.05 meters. He will have an opportunity this weekend to top his performance as he competes on Thursday at 3:30 p.m., in the event.

On the women’s side, senior Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) finished first at the Hurricane Twilight in the shot put. She will also compete in the event this weekend (Friday at 11 a.m.) as she looks to surpass last week’s throw of 16.05 meters.

Next up, UVA will host a quad meet with Maryland, Penn and Columbia (April 8) at Lannigan Field.
