#GivingToHoosDay

UVA is holding its annual Giving To Hoos Day today, a 24-hour period where donors can show their support for their favorite cause that features a friendly competition among different areas of the University. Here’s more information. To donate to the Virginia Athletics Foundation, use this link.

Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars
Six Virginia Cavaliers were honored on Tuesday by being named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars, an accolade which honors undergraduates students who have excelled in the classroom as well as on the athletic field. In addition to their athletic ability and academic performance (3.2 cumulative GPA or higher), Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars demonstrate a commitment to community service and student leadership.Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (men’s tennis) and Audrey Gould (women’s swimming) attended the awards ceremony in Richmond. Jasmine Burton (volleyball), Micah Kiser (football), John Denning (men’s swimming) and Breyana Mason (women’s basketball) also earned the honor but were not able to attend the ceremony.

#UVAVB signee Sarah Billiard is still accomplishing a lot, not just in volleyball. Billiard was recognized for her performance with her high school track and field team, winning the high jump at the CISAA conference meet. Billiard had 525 kills and 466 digs for the volleyball team in the fall and is a three-time all-state volleyball player and a two-time all-state basketball selection.
