CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No 40 Virginia women’s tennis team (9-10, 6-5 ACC) closes out a road trip on Sunday (April 16) when the Cavaliers take on Louisville (13-9, 2-8 ACC) in an 11 a.m. match at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Virginia is coming off a pair of wins on Friday as the Cavaliers defeated Duquesne in a non-conference matchup in the morning and closed the day with a win over ACC opponent Pittsburgh. Virginia defeated the Dukes 6-1 and bested the Panthers 5-2.

The Cavaliers have a pair of players ranked in the latest edition of the ITA women’s singles rankings, with Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) at No. 48 and junior Cassie Mercer at No. 116. The doubles tandem of freshman Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Mercer are the No. 37 doubles team in the latest ITA women’s doubles rankings.

Louisville enters the Sunday morning matchup coming off a loss to No. 4 North Carolina on Thursday and has lost five consecutive matches, all in ACC play.

Louisville does not have a player ranked in singles or doubles.
