CASTAIC LAKE, Calif. – Redshirt sophomore Brendan Casey (Santa Monica, Calif.) concluded the U.S. Swimming Open Water National Championships on Sunday (May 21), finishing 13th in the 5k swim at Castaic Lake, California.

Casey recorded a time of 57.46.04 in the event. He competed against 40 athletes in the open water competition from the U.S. and Great Britain.

This was the second event of the weekend for Casey. He raced in the 10k on Friday, finishing with a time of 1:57.45.613. Casey placed second overall, earning a roster spot with the U.S. national team at the FINA World Championships.

The FINA World Championships will be held July 14-30 in Budapest, Hungary.
