Mihaljevic also captured a second-place finish, recording a mark of 20.42m in the shot put. Young finished third in the hammer with an effort of 65.85m.

“All of our guys did fantastic at their national championships,” assistant coach Martin Maric said. “They continue to show that they are not just some of the best throwers in the NCAA, but on the world stage as well. Winning national titles in their home countries is not an easy thing, and to see them do it is really impressive.”
