2017-18 Virginia Men’s Tennis Schedule

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s tennis team announced its 2017-18 schedule on Thursday (August 31).

The Cavaliers, led by first-year head coach Andres Pedroso, will be competing in a variety of individual tournaments in the fall and will play 14 regular-season dual matches in the spring at their home courts – the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club and Snyder Tennis Center.

The fall portion of the schedule includes a pair of individual national tournaments, the ITA All-American, being held Sept. 30 through Oct. 9 in Tulsa, Okla., and the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, being held Nov. 1-5 in Indian Wells, Calif., as well as three traditional collegiate individual tournaments hosted by Princeton, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. Members of the squad will also be playing in Lynchburg, Va., in the ITA Regional, the qualifying tournament for the All-American, from Oct. 19-23. The fall schedule will also see select players competing in professional tournaments including the Charlottesville Challenger, being held at the Boar’s Head Sports Club, Oct. 28 through Nov. 5.

The reigning NCAA champion Cavaliers’ home slate begins with a pair of duals against Richmond (Jan. 20) and VCU (Jan. 21), followed by the ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 26-28) with No. 25 Columbia, No. 27 Ole Miss and No. 32 Texas Tech coming to town for the qualifying tournament for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, being held Feb. 16-19 in Seattle, Wash.

The Cavaliers begin their 12-match ACC schedule at Louisville on March 2 and host Boston College (March 16) and Notre Dame (March 18) in the first home weekend of conference play. UVA closes the regular-season home slate by hosting Wake Forest on April 15.

The ACC championships return to the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C., from April 25-29. The Cavaliers have won 12 ACC championships and 13 regular-season titles.
