CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Veronica Latsko (Venetia, Pa.), a senior forward on the Virginia women’s soccer team, has been named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week as announced by the organization on Tuesday (Oct. 3).

Latsko was also named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week by the league office earlier on Tuesday.

Latsko tied the Virginia single-game mark for points with eight as she scored three goals and added two assists on Sunday (Oct. 1) to help lead Virginia to a 7-0 win at Pittsburgh. The eight points matched the record previously set by Makenzy Doniak in the 2014 season and matched by Doniak in the 2015 season.

The hat trick was the second of Latsko’s career and first in ACC play. The senior hit what proved to be the game-winner against the Panthers in the 13th minute and then added her two assists on a pair of goals scored in the 17th minute as Virginia built a 3-0 lead. She then scored the first two goals of the second half on the way to the victory.

Latsko and the Cavaliers return to action on Thursday night, hosting Notre Dame in a 7 p.m. match at Klöckner Stadium.
