CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Freshman Maya Das (Potomac, Md.) took first place in the flight F singles to lead five Cavaliers competing at the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 8). Five members of the Virginia women’s tennis team were competing in the final day of the event.

Das took her flight with a 7-6 (3), 7-5 win over Dylan Owens of James Madison.

Two other Cavaliers finished third in their flights as Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Lizzie Baker (Washington) won their matches on Sunday. Radosavljevic defeated Alissa Soloveva of Winthrop 6-0, 5-7, 10-4 in her flight, while Baker defeated Zoe Radojicic of Charlotte 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.

Erica Susi (Vero Beach, Fla.) finished fourth in her flight, as Suzanne Zenoni of Elon defeated her 7-6 (6), 6-2.

Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.) finished second in the consolation bracket of her flight. Alexandra Lee of Charlotte defeated Favero 6-4, 6-0 to take the consolation bracket.
