Madison, Wis.- The No. 28 Virginia women’s cross country team finished 21st at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 13) at the Zimmer Championship Course.

Senior Frances Schmiede (Sydney, Australia) paced the team, finishing 28th. The senior recorded a time of 20.20.8.

Next to cross was graduate student Beth Hawling (Cheltenham, Great Britain), finishing 51st overall followed by freshman Hannah Moran in 125th place. Hawling recorded a time of 20.42.9, while Moran recorded a time of 21.29.1. Sophomore Emma Call (Richmond, Va.) and freshman Kiera Bothwell (Springfield, Va.) rounded out the scoring runs, respectively. Call finished 135th with a time of 21.35.4, while Bothwell finished 193rd with a time of 22:17.7.

Up next, the Cavaliers will compete at the ACC Championships on Oct. 27 in Louisville, Ky.
